Terms of Use

Last updated: July 2026 · Applies to getbillwatch.com and the BillWatch app

Welcome to BillWatch. By using the service you agree to these terms. They're short and in plain language — please actually read them.

1. What BillWatch is (and isn't)

BillWatch is a tool for tracking and understanding utility bills: it extracts details from bill and meter photos, shows trends and alerts, estimates solar savings, and answers questions with AI assistance. BillWatch is not a utility company, a payment service, a financial adviser, or an engineering consultancy — and it is not affiliated with JPS, NWC, Flow, Digicel, or any biller.

2. Estimates, projections & AI answers

Amounts extracted from photos, bill projections from meter readings, solar savings and payback figures, and AI chat responses are estimates and informational aids. They can be wrong or incomplete. Your actual bill from your utility is authoritative. Verify important figures before making decisions — especially financial ones like purchasing a solar system. Solar figures are planning estimates, not quotes; only a licensed installer's written quote is a quote.

3. Your responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information and only add bills you're entitled to manage (yours, or someone's you genuinely assist, like a family member).
  • Remain responsible for paying your bills on time — a missed BillWatch reminder does not excuse a missed payment, and we're not liable for late fees or disconnections.
  • Keep access to your email secure, since sign-in works by email link.
  • Don't misuse the service (attempting to access others' data, submitting false solar leads, abusing the AI, or interfering with operation).

4. Solar quotes feature

When you request quotes, you consent to us sharing your submitted details with solar installers. Installers are independent businesses: we don't guarantee their quotes, workmanship, or timelines, and any contract you sign with an installer is between you and them.

5. Pilot status & availability

BillWatch is an early-stage service. We aim for reliability but provide the service "as is," without warranties, and may modify, suspend, or discontinue features. Back up important information. Where a feature is free today, it may become part of a paid tier later — we'll be clear when that happens.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BillWatch and its operator are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions made in reliance on estimates, projections, or AI output. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the preceding 12 months (which, for free-tier users, is zero).

7. Your data

Your bill data remains yours. How we handle it is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

8. Termination

You can stop using BillWatch anytime and request deletion of your data. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica.
